Built during the early ’80s in Japan under the Matsumoku umbrella, the RS line was one of Aria’s higher end product line. The “Special V” designation gives this guitar a subtly aggressive character without going full “flying V” theatrics — its body shape and neck design blend modern flair with classic ergonomics. A 1982 example of the model lists alder as the body wood, maple neck, and rosewood fretboard. The neck profile is described as a slender “V” style.
