Description
Aria Pro II TS-400BG Burgundy Japan SN 059664 1979
This Aria Pro II TS-400, with its distinctive burgundy finish instead of the usual tobacco burst, stands out as a rare find in the Thor-Sound (formerly Tri-Sound) series. Crafted in Japan by Matsumoku beginning in 1979, the TS-400 was the passive counterpart in a line that included more electronics-rich siblings like the TS-500, TS-600, and TS-800.
With a Laminated construction, usually sycamore or maple wings with a maple core plus a Bolt-On design, the TS-400 offers superb build quality and playability as known from Aria in this era. The 3-piece maple neck topped with a rosewood fretboard is comfortable in the hand and a mix between a strat and a les paul neck: Relatively round, but thin like a strat.
Equipped with high-output Aria Protomatic III humbuckers, master volume, two tone controls, a 3-way pickup selector and a mini switch allowing you to go out of phase. Truely a guitar with endless sound options! Any type of music can be played on this guitar. It can roar, it can sing, it can be mellow and play the blues.
The TS-400 has been fully cleaned and checked, is 100% operational, with polished frets and a saturated fretboard: ready to play. All components are original, and while it shows playwear such as scratches, buckle wear, and a few chips, it still plays like it was made yesterday. Please note: the guitar is sold without the case.
